The exceptional freshness and purity of fruit displayed in the Panul wines is largely due to an ideal Mediterranean climate tempered by the proximity of the Pacific Ocean in the Colchagua Valley. This is what gives the area its reputation as the premium winemaking region of Chile. Panul takes its name from the native Chilean Indian word meaning ‘embrace’ or ‘hug’, which is also the name of the chain of hills surrounding the vineyards in the Marchiche region to the western end of the Valley.
